Iconic Red Phone Booth from Liverpool, England
Liverpool Phone Booth
SlotWorld is home to two of the ubiquitous red phone booths that once adorned street corners throughout England. With the advance of the digital age and cell phone use, British Telecom decided to eliminate most of these booths. Fortunately, some were restored and sold off. SlotWorld acquired two of these in May of 2000 when the casino expanded and installed one at each main entrance.
Paperwork that accompanied the shipment revealed that these booths came off the streets of Liverpool. Now, we can’t verify this, but we can imagine that at least one of the Beatles used at least one of these booths sometime in the 1950′s or 1960′s while growing up in Liverpool. We’d love to have a tape of that conversation…
